The Porcelain Moon is set against the little-known history of the Chinese workers brought to Europe as labourers during WWI. Two women—one French, one Chinese—risk all for forbidden love, belonging, identity, and freedom. Janie will also treat us to a special preview reading from her upcoming book, The Phoenix Crown, set in the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and co-authored with Kate Quinn (to be published Feb 2024).
