A Magic Steeped in Poison is the first in The Book of Tea Duology from New York Times bestselling author Judy I Lin. This fantasy novel blends Chinese folklore with a thrilling mystery. Main character Ning’s family is in shambles after drinking poisonous tea. To save her sister Ning sets out to the imperial city to compete in a magical tea making contest but danger and courtly schemes get in her way.
Join the book club and then meet the author! On the following month, May 27th author Judy I Lin will be here at the Gibsons & District Public Library. Judy will be here to sign your book and lead a workshop on writing – great for aspiring authors and fans alike!

Judy I. Lin, #1 New York Times-bestselling author of the Book of Tea duology (A Magic Steeped in Poison and A Venom Dark and Sweet), was born in Taiwan and immigrated to Canada with her family at a young age. She grew up with her nose in a book and loved to escape to imaginary worlds. She now works as an occupational therapist and still spends her nights dreaming up imaginary worlds of her own. She lives on the Canadian prairies with her husband and daughters.
